About

October 7th, 2006

I live in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. I publish a photo almost every day, and sometimes I write something too.
Email me: olife@sympatico.ca

I watch a lot of movies, and I like to write reviews of them. I post those on the other part of this blog, Watawa movies. You can go back and forth by clicking on Movies or Life on the masthead.

I live in Chinatown. I work as a technical writer at a small software company. Here’s me and my big brother John. I haven’t changed a bit.

Hi there - is your name Robin??? I am just guessing…………. have stumbled onto your blog ’cause it’s a cold day and I am avoiding getting to some household tasks I’ve been procrastinating on for months now :} — it has been fun looking at your pictures and reading the captions - tks! Cath

I’m very curious to learn more about you, as I live in downtown Ottawa myself. I found your site because the “no air” graffiti’s meaning is driving me NUTS! So google pointed me to your site. Anyhow, perhaps I’ll find you on facebook, and make a new friend.

-lamersize (you can find me on livejournal - just comment and I’ll friend you if you have an account)

    hi,
I am neighbour from the “other” side of Cambridge St. N.
Your photos really capture our community. I look at them just to remind me why we live in this crazy spot.
    Cheers!
ps. Just to tell you… the planters… in the winter… we are lucky if a snowplow clears the snow on the street.

  6. Robin Kelsey Says:

Witchypoo, that’s a good point about the snow plows. I never thought of that. I bet you don’t get many fires down there either ;)
    Thanks for reading!

  7. witchypoo's partner Says:

Actually the cities snow clearing is more than adequate through the planters. Witchypoo just felt bad being on the greener side of the track. The city can be encouraged to put a some at least infront of your yellow bollards; they must have a couple around somewhere.

  8. Robin Kelsey Says:

If anyone is wondering what we’re talking about, my rant about the planters is here: Big day on Cambridge St.

but what does NO AIR. mean?

i’m loving the mystery, but now I just really want to figure it out…

  10. Robin Kelsey Says:

Hi nicole, the NO AIR guy likes to create an air of mystery, but to me NO AIR just means there isn’t enough air to breathe in a polluted city. Some of his images look like skeletons. I see them as asthma sufferers gasping for air.

I don’t think he’s going to explain it so you might as well make up your own mind. Anyway I like them.

Hi Robin, found your blog while googling for Dragonfly pictures.

You may not have heard that Dave Knight died a few weeks ago (Feb 26) in BC, of a heart attack related to diabetes. Uh huh, just a few months after we lost JC. Dave was just 51–I’m two days older than him and we were friends for nearly 40 years. We are having a memorial service for him Sat April 12, 1 p.m. at the MERA Schoolhouse in McDonalds Corners, followed by a party at Bill and Molly’s (nearby). Drop me a line for details if you might want to come.

If you have any pictures of Dave from the olden days, I’m working on a Powerpoint photo thing….don’t have many from the 80’s/90’s.

    Take care
    Bill.

ps you got a speeding ticket for going 90 on HIGHWAY 7??? That doesn’t even happen in Sharbot Lake. Sheesh. I go through Madoc 4 times a week on a round trip to Toronto for Little Stream Bakery, my employer. And I’m never going just 90!
