Animal highway

There are a bunch of these down at Dow’s Lake. I don’t know who made them. There isn’t anything gluing them together, so if you touch them they fall apart.

Hare are some more of them. Coming upon them has some of the same eerie feeling as coming upon the sculptures at Remic Rapids… maybe more so, because they are so unexpected.

Bulrushes

It was one of those fleeting days when the weather is about to change. Soon it’s going to get warm and everything will melt for a couple of days, and then it’s going to get cold again. We’ll have to wait and see what that will be like. But just for today it was what it was, and it was beautiful.

The lake is an animal highway.

I’ve never seen those rock statues before. Very cool.

They look different from Ceprano’s, or maybe it is because there are different stones available on Dow’s Lake. Nice contrast with the flatness of the lake.

They look like a crowd of weird little people sitting at the edge of the lake (like those rather scary burlap people in your post yesterday). Now I want to go over to Dow’s Lake to check them out – I haven’t been there for ages. I wonder who took the time to do all this.

This is an interesting time of year for Dow’s Lake when it is empty but not frozen yet. And must be great for the animals to be able to take a short cut across.

Hi Lucy, they are at that little point to the left soon after you enter the park.

It looks so long ago already.
