Later: Why is it that every place you go is too small for the number of people who want to fit into it? This especially applies to downtown Ottawa, where you cannot get close enough to see anything on Remembrance Day or Canada Day.

Last year Tanya Tagaq was there. You can watch her show on YouTube. First you see the PM and his kiddies sitting in the front row with the Governor General.

Wow! She’s something else. She’s so good it hurts to listen to her. (I mean it.) What could Stephen Harper and his wife and kiddies possibly make of Tanya Tagaq?

Never mind. Here’s who they’re having this year.

That Joel Plaskett looks like somebody just took his last cookie. Look at those sorrowful eyes, that quivering lip. Quick! Get that man a cookie! It’s an emergency!!

I don’t know anything about Diane Dusfresne, but she looks pretty interesting. I like her taste in hats. Here she is on YouTube wearing a violin on her head. She’s really quite spectacular.
