In Confederation Park, Ottawa.

This is the second picture I’ve posted today. I don’t know what’s come over me. The other one is of some graffiti on the tech wall.

Confederation Park

This man was waiting out a rainstorm outside of the dollar store on Bank St. The one where Big Bud’s used to be. The woman is inside the store. I was having a coffee at Hartman’s, also waiting out the rainstorm. I took this through the window, and in the case of the woman, two windows.

Here’s Dong Ling Handmade (heart) Dumplin. It’s on Somerset west of the causeway.

This is from the bike path underneath Parliament Hill, looking up at that gazebo thing they have up there. I thought it looked kind of mysterious, like a Buddhist temple on a mountainside in some remote corner of China.

The pet store at Billings Bridge mall. I like it because of the bright primary colours and because it’s so confusing. I hope those cats get a nice home.

Here’s the fountain in Confederation Park.

I liked this person’s hair. I don’t know if it’s a man or a woman. I took it while I was having a beer on the patio at Gabriel’s pizza, at the corner of Bank and Somerset.

Same place. Couple of girls, maybe sisters.

There are some forlorn-looking rides at Lansdowne Park, waiting for the Ex. And Der Vittle Hut is there too.

Here are some people fishing. This was taken from the bridge on Bank Street near Billings Bridge.

This is the sunset from Lansdowne on Saturday night. And that’s all for now.

People were fishing in the river.

I got some pictures of birds. I don’t know the names of birds either, but I think this might be a female red-winged blackbird. I learned that on Pearl’s blog. Among birds it’s the guys that get to wear the flashy duds.

I know this is a duck, but what kind of duck? Maybe it’s a Peking Duck ;)
(Updated later the same day: It’s a female wood duck. The male wood duck is much more colourful, with distinctive and alluring red eyes. Maybe I’d know the names of more birds if every bird didn’t have two sexes that look completely different.)

For someone who is so interested in knowing the names of birds, you’d think I might already know a few. I know chicken, seagull, flamingo, turkey, pigeon, and budgie. That’s a pretty good start. Oh, and peacock.

This is a female mallard. Everybody knows that. Or if you didn’t, don’t forget that you learned it here.

They’re rehearsing a play at Strathcona Park. It isn’t Shakespeare.

This wall used to have great graffiti on it. How could you possibly think this is an improvement…

There is an imposing fountain at Strathcona Park. Four cherubs hold up a vessel of water.
