There was a pretty big crowd there, so it was hard to get close. A lot of people were in costume. I’ve never seen such dark hair and flashing eyes, such white teeth. It was the kind of festival where people just walk around looking at each other, they’re all so beautiful. Ay, caramba!

I don’t know what the gold people represent. Maybe they’re the Inca or the Maya. I think that young woman’s skirt is actually illegal in several countries.
