Now I’m not really a Valentine’s Day kind of guy, and I wasn’t even thinking of Valentine’s Day when I took the picture. (And you know what, I didn’t actually go out on the canal and stomp out the hearts to make a good pic for Valentine’s Day. I just found them like that.) But the fact is I posted a Valentines-y picture last year too, this one:

I haven’t been outside yet today, but I took a few pics yesterday as I was doing my laundry. I went to the Umi Café to get something to eat during the wash cycle.

Umi Café is right across the street from the Tang Coin Laundry so it’s very convenient, but in the past I haven’t been very impressed with the gristly tofu sandwiches they have there. This time I tried a non-vegan one that had mozzie cheese in it instead of that awful tofu. It was pretty good except for the slightly gritty veggies.

I was pleased to see that someone was playing the piano at the Umi, now that the one at Hartman’s is gone.

These buttons were at the laundry. I half-heartedly tried to make a pic of the day out of them, but it didn’t happen. Here they are anyway.

I took this pic out of the window of the Umi as I was eating my sandwich.

It looks like Kimchi Korea on Percy has had the biscuit. I noticed they had a grand opening and then immediately closed. It seems like it’s hard for Korean joints to survive in Chinatown, although I think Soora and Koreana are doing ok. But Seoul House has moved to Bank St. and the one next to the Yangtze — Bulgogi Garden — is now Yummy Sushi.
