He is probably the most famous son of New France and the first great French adventurer born in America.&#8221;</p><p>This is one of the statues of famous warriors called &#8220;The Valiants,&#8221; next to the National War Memorial. To my eyes these are odd little sculptures, because &#8212; being life size &#8212; they look too small. Smaller than life.</p><p>I made d&#8217;Iberville look bigger than the Chateau Laurier, just to compensate. In the background you can see tiny Joseph Brant.
