They were very inexpensive.

Other than that I wasn’t really finding anything I wanted until I came upon some bags of rocks. They were the smooth kind that come from streams. They were marked “Made in China” and they cost $1 a bag. I bought three bags.

I got a bag of large white rocks, a bag of large black rocks, and a bag of small assorted rocks. Cost of rocks: $3. Then I bought a couple of bowls to put the rocks in. I got a small black bowl and a larger glass bowl. Each bowl cost $2.50. Total cost of rocks and bowls: $8.

I had the idea that the large black and white rocks would look nice in the glass bowl, and that it might be pleasant to pick one of them up and hold it in your hand. I thought maybe you’d hold a rock in your hand and rub it with your thumb, and then you’d feel better. There are lots of times when I’d like to feel better!

I wasn’t sure what the purpose of the small rocks would be. I really only got them because they only cost a buck.

When I got home I washed all the rocks and put them in their bowls.

I haven’t found much use for the large rocks yet. It remains to be seen if they will have a purpose in my life. What I like is running my fingers through the small rocks.

The bowls I bought were too small so I put the small rocks in a big plastic mixing bowl. You don’t want to feel like the rocks could spill out or break the bowl. I’m going to have to get a large wooden bowl for them.

When I run my fingers through the small rocks it feels good on my hand, like a massage, and it also feels like I’m at the beach. It reminds me of all the times I’ve been someplace in nature and run my fingers through rocks. It’s kind of emotional. I like it a lot.

I also think it’s fantastic that the rocks came all the way from China. The earth is the earth, and they are exactly the same as Canadian rocks, but they came all the way from China! (Kind of like everything you are wearing.)

One problem with having bowls of rocks around is that people might think they are candies and try to eat them. So don’t eat the rocks.

Update Nov. 26

I was using the wrong bowls.

Large rocks

I don’t need any more bowls. If you don’t have any rocks around your house I recommend getting some. As for everything you are wearing coming from China, that’s true, but it doesn’t make it any less fantastic to have a bowl full of rocks that came all the way from China.
