Chinatown arch

I think it looks like it’s floating, as light as air.

What is it made of? Cannot be all concrete. I like it very much. When is the ribbon cutting?

Mostly concrete, but the decorative pieces on the top look like ceramic.

According to Eric Darwin’s blog http://ottawachinatownroyalarch.blogspot.com:
The arch will be completed for unveiling on October 13, the 40th anniversary of the modern Canada-China relationship.

It’s gorgeous! You realize, though, that once it’s finished you’ll have to dress up to go to the Tang Laundry and for any other trip that requires passing beneath it.

Yes, and be carried in a palanquin. But it’s worth it.
