Forest retreaters 1000, donkeys 0
This is a followup to some donkey business discussed in the post People at a meeting on August 29.
I didn’t expect it to happen this way, but the homesteaders have regretfully decided to move somewhere else and take the donkeys with them. I don’t like it but I found it impossible to argue in the face of the ‘health card’ played by the forest retreaters. I think it sucks.
Here’s sad-eyed Lily the donkey.

That is unbelievable! That one individual could unilaterally turn the community into an (effectively) animal-free zone is horrible. Who is going to want to buy into this community now? It surely seems wrong.
Who knew donkeys could be so controversial? I’m sorry it turned out that way Robin, but I hope the donkeys and the homesteaders find happiness in their new pro-donkey community.
I should have added that they don’t want to leave, and that it won’t be easy.
I agree with Nancy, it’s all very wrong. We humans are so greedy gobbling up all the land for bigger and bigger homes and mega-malls and super highways; not wanting to share with animals who have no place else to live. We get mad at coyotes and bears and foxes when they creep into our backyards wondering what happened to their homes. Foolish, foolish humans
Would you tell me what kind of lens and or camera set up you’re using for these macro shots. They have been terrific.
Thanks Bandobras. I’m using a Nikon dslr and a Sigma 150 mm macro lens.
We’re pushing the animals to the edge of the planet. The only saving grace is there’s no edge to it.
I can’t understand this exclusivity. Merely framing rules doesn’t make them just.
