Macro lens
This is for photo geeks.
I rented a macro lens for the weekend from Henry’s. It cost $40 to rent from Thursday to Monday, which is the rate for two days. (The weekend counts as one day.)
It’s a Nikon AF-S Micro Nikkor 105 mm 1:2.8 G ED. It has VR (vibration reduction). It’s not a zoom lens.
To check it out, I’ve been taking pictures of small things. But if I got a lens like this I’d also want to use it as a standard walking-around lens, so I took the pic up above with it.
From this lens I’m looking for extreme sharpness and the ability to focus very close. I realize this also requires me to not jiggle the camera. I’m trying!
Here’s a dandelion.

New leaves

My eyes aren’t bleeding yet, but I think I’m starting to get the hang of it.

Definitely getting the hang of it. And macros do make nice walking-around lenses. The good ones are very sharp, just a touch slower than standard ones. In most cases, that’s really not a problem.
I like the glasses shot.
Thanks coyote.
I don’t know what it all means, but the photos are stunning
Gorgeous!
Great shots. The dandelion reminds me of how beautiful they are for a short time. No middle age sag for the lion.
