This is my non-award for not winning a smiling beaver in the Canadian Blog Awards. I think it’s a disgruntled ground hog.

Very “cool” with the snow and Christmas decorations! I like it a lot.
Thanks Mike :)
Congratulations on the fourth place finish Robin. You wuz robbed.
I wuz! But somehow life goes on.
And how about that Knitnut?
Having perused the winners in your category I have come to the conclusion that this just might have more to do with networking than artistic merit. You’ll have to get the Obama net team together next year to promote your work. The work deserved better.
I agree, that you should have won first place — not that there’s anything wrong with the other 3 blogs, but yours is so much better. As I said before, too bad it’s a popularity thing rather than a true merit thing. But still, being the 4th most popular in the whole country is pretty cool! Not as cool as it must be standing around with a great clump of snow on your head, though.
classic juxtaposition.
Thanks for all your comments :)
Now I’m feeling guilty for not voting…well, just to let you know that I drop in regularly because I am a fan of your photos. This one is great, just the kind of image I’d love to find on a holiday card…bah humbug. Well maybe it needs a little photoshopped chickadee in there, sitting on those little crosses. just to cheer her up a bit…
congratulations!
Congrats Robin!
I am amused at how many times we take a picture of similar things. You always seem to be a few day or weeks after me. I will post my picture of Our Lady if I can find it in my photos…
Jacquie, it’s great to hear from you! Feel free to grab the Lady and put in a chickadee if you want.
Woodsy, hi, I’d love to see it. Was she wearing a crown of lights and snow?
Robin, As you now know, she was wearing a red rose at her toes…
Woodsy, I’m not a Catholic or even religious at all, but I like Our Lady. She’s so patient, and she accepts everything… roses, snow, xmas lights… without any loss of dignity. Of course, it helps to be a statue.
You see I thought he was a disgruntled beaver. Anyways all the disgruntled beavers and groundhogs and local bloggers agree your #1 in Ottawa. Keep showing us the way!
