Remembrance Day 2010

I didn’t go down there. Too crowded. I watched it on TV and then went down later on.

There was still a small, slowly changing group of people standing around the tomb of the unknown soldier.

I like how people toss their poppies on the tomb. They look like drops of blood to me.

    I never knew people left poppies on the monument until this year… That made me choke up it was so moving and your photo does the same. Powerful.

    I think it was a spontaneous gesture Laura, it just seemed to feel right for people to leave their poppies on the tomb. I agree that it’s a powerful thing.
