Great series, Robin! You have a great eye for composition and the sardonic.
WOW!
Thanks for the kind words.
Hello Aysa :)
Yellow oriole.
Pearl, that’s a good try, but I think the short, conical beak makes it an American goldfinch. What do you think? (My reference book is “Birds of North America.”)
Wow! Great photos! And you’re right in my ‘hood now. We contributed to the wading pool chalk drawings during the Hintonburg Harvest Fest.
That’s me on the right:

And then it was off to the Carleton, inside, mind you, skipped the Ugly Club.
Again, I’m enjoying the heck out of your local reports and photo journalism. Keep it up!
Thanks Larry. I took a look at your photos on Flickr too. Good stuff!
Could be. I’ll go with your guidebook, being too lazy to walk 2 rooms and find mine. ;)
Another great set, Robin. My favourite is the kids in the wading pool. As for the bird – I don’t think the beak works for an oriole, but goldfinches tend to be a more vibrant yellow than that. Of the two, I’d go with the goldfinch. Maybe it’s something else. (It’s certainly not a Canada Goose.)
Thanks zoom. That’s my favourite too.
