The moon

I went out every 15 minutes or so and took a few shots. I was using a 70-300 mm zoom lens. I was too lazy to set up a tripod.

Here’s one taken at an early stage of the eclipse. This one’s pretty sharp. It’s my pic of the day.

Later it got harder to focus. My cat ran out on the porch and I had to go get him back, and it was cold out there too. I didn’t get any good pictures of the total eclipse.

For more pictures of the eclipse:
Charles Earl has a good picture of the moon.

So does Coyote.

Wow. Robin, those are very impressive. I couldn’t even FIND the moon last night from any of my windows and I refused to go outside in the cold and look for it.

Well zoom, don’t forget: It hates us.

Wow from me, too. I’d like to see the others you took, as well. Please?

According to Donald Barthelme. This was discussed in another post, also called The moon.

I think Jake was right though. That’s not the moon, it’s the sun. The sun is not known to hate us.

This moon-hating-us business sounds more like Charles Bukowski than Donald Barthelme. But I’ll take your word for it.

I think Bukowski hates the moon more than it hates him.

Barthelme’s story about the moon is in a collection called Unspeakable Practices, Unnatural Acts. Here it is at Amazon.

XUP: You are very kind to ask, but my pictures of the moon are all about the same as that one. I missed the red full eclipse moon. Now I have 3 years to prepare for next time.
