2 Days in Paris (2007)

Julie Delpy, star of Richard Linklater’s Before Sunrise and Before Sunset, directs a movie that blurs the line between character and person.
If you find yourself asking, “Where’s Ethan Hawke?” you’ve fallen into the trap.
Delpy plays a young French woman who has eccentric parents who live upstairs, and an American boyfriend. The boyfriend doesn’t speak French and wasn’t expecting Delpy’s character to have so many ex-lovers.
As in the Linklater films, the characters walk around and talk and talk and talk and talk. They are very honest, very charming, and very real.
I liked this movie a lot.

I loved that film, those are her real parents, and her real cat in the film, but I’m sure you knew that.

We thought Delpy’s effort is quite different from Linklater’s. We like them both.
