Fast Times at Ridgemont High (1982)

One of the first California teen movies, if not the first. Satisfyingly irreverent and stupid. Features Jennifer Jason Leigh as a blonde cheerleader kind of girl who, refreshingly, pretty much just wants to get laid.
Watch for Sean Penn’s seminal performance as a stoner dude. It’s great. Hard to imagine that he went on to play all those other more serious roles and married Madonna and everything.
And Forest Whitaker, one of the best actors of his generation, as an inarticulate basketball bruiser.
And Anthony Edwards from ER as… nobody much. One of the dudes.
I’m sure you’ve already seen this movie, but if you haven’t, you should. It’s fun.
