Wild Strawberries (1957)

This, the second Bergman film I have seen, is nothing like The Seventh Seal. It�s a long, brooding psychological study of an elderly man looking back on his life.

Bergman is considered highly intellectual and sophisticated, but this is a little like Dickens� A Christmas Carol, as the old man is allowed to watch himself in humiliating scenes from his earlier life. (No ghosts though.)

It�s good. Bergman isn�t scary at all, and the film is thought-provoking and emotionally rewarding. You should watch it.
